1. The Spotify Premium Student Tier Introductory Trial Offer.
The Spotify Premium Student Tier Introductory Trial Offer (the “Student Intro Offer”) is made to you by Spotify (as defined in the Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use, “Spotify Terms of Use”). The Student Intro Offer allows you, subject to these terms and conditions (the “Student Intro Offer Terms”), to access the Spotify Premium Service (as defined in the Spotify Terms of Use) for an initial trial period of up to three (3) months (the “Student Intro Offer Period”) at the advertised price; after you subscribe to the Student Intro Offer by completing your payment. During the Student Intro Offer Period, Spotify may, from time-to-time, make available certain Partner Services, as defined in the Spotify Premium for Students Tier Terms and Conditions (“Student Tier Terms”), to subscribers to the Student Intro Offer.

By submitting your payment details, (i) you accept these Student Intro Offer Terms which supplement and incorporate by reference the Student Tier Terms, (ii) consent to us using your payment details in accordance with our Privacy Policy, (iii) acknowledge and agree to the Spotify Terms of Use. If there is any inconsistency between these Student Intro Offer Terms and the Student Tier Terms, these Student Intro Offer Terms will prevail.

2. Eligibility.
In order to receive this Student Intro Offer you must be a Qualifying Student (as defined in the Student Tier Terms) and satisfy the eligibility requirements in the Student Tier Terms. To verify your status as a Qualifying Student, you must submit your Qualifying Information (as defined in the Student Tier Terms) by following the steps outlined in the Student Tier Terms. We may use the services of SheerID, Inc., to process and report to us on your Qualifying Information, as described in the Student Tier Terms.

You must also be a new subscriber to the Spotify Premium Service. You may also be ineligible for this Student Intro Offer if you have taken other previous trial offers offered by Spotify. Only one Student Intro Offer may be applied to each Spotify Premium account. You may only redeem the Student Intro Offer once.

3. Duration.
After the Student Intro Offer Period, you will automatically be charged the then-current monthly price of the Student Tier (as defined in the Student Tier Terms) and the payment method you provided will automatically be charged that amount, unless you cancel your Premium Service subscription prior to the end of the Student Intro Offer Period. To cancel, you must log into your Spotify account and follow the prompts on the Account page or click here and follow the instructions.

In the event that you become a paying subscriber to the Student Tier after the Student Intro Offer Period has ended, the first Discount Period (as defined in the Student Tier Terms) remaining under your then current Student Tier subscription will be reduced by three (3) months. As a result, you will be asked to re-verify your eligibility as a Qualifying Student nine (9) months after that subscription begins.

This Student Intro Offer must be redeemed before the date advertised (if any). Except where prohibited by applicable law, Spotify reserves the right to modify, waive or earlier terminate this Student Intro Offer at any time and for any reason. After such time of termination, Spotify shall not be obligated to allow any further redemption of Student Intro Offers.

4. Partner Services.
In order to receive access to any Partner Services that we may make available, you must follow the steps outlined in the Student Tier Terms. The Partner Services will have their own terms of use which will apply. Certain Partner Services may have additional eligibility conditions which, if applicable, we will outline in the Student Tier Terms.

Spotify is now available in India. Here’s how to get started with the long-awaited music streaming application.

Spotify is now finally available for Indian users. The official application is available for download on Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store. It's also available on desktop for Windows and MacOS.

Spotify, one of the world's biggest music streaming services, has been making efforts to tap markets outside the US. India has been one of its priority markets. The company, however, has made some changes to woo the Indian audience. For instance, its subscription plans are much cheaper in India than what it charges users in the US.

Spotify will offer more than four crore songs and 300 crore playlists for music fans in the country, the company said.

It had briefly hit a hurdle when the music label, WMG, filed for an injunction in the Bombay High Court earlier this week over licensing rights.

'Not only will Spotify bring Indian artists to the world, we'll also bring the world's music to fans across India. Spotify's music family just got a whole lot bigger,' said Daniel Ek, Spotify Founder and CEO.

To subscribe for the premium version, iPhone users in India to visit the official Spotify website. Android users can sign up for the premium version from the application. Spotify Premium: Subscription plans

Spotify premium offers ad-free unlimited music, podcasts and offline support. In India, Spotify is offering a 30-day free trial for Spotify Premium after which it will start charging 119 a month. Spotify is also offering recharge-like top-up options which start as low as 13 for 1 day. Users can pay for these top-up recharges via Paytm.

The top-up plans are 39 for seven days, 129 for one month, 389 for three months, and 719 for six months.

The annual subscription plan is priced at 1,189. Students can avail up to 50% discount on monthly subscription.

Spotify vs competition (premium version)

Apple Music is available for monthly subscription rate of 120. Student plans start at 60. Google's Play Music is available for 99 per month. Saavn offers a premium Saavn Pro at a starting subscription plan of 95. Wynk Music, which is mostly bundled with several Airtel plans, is available for 120 per month.
