Best Free Podcasts For Sleep Spotify

Do you need some kind of sleep noise to help you drift off to dreamland? Here are the best podcasts to fall asleep to, some of which are designed for this purpose, and others are (in my opinion) the perfect non-alcoholic nightcap.

The best sleep podcast to listen to when you’re struggling to fall asleep

There’s nothing worse than being wide awake when it’s bedtime. It’s not fair that you’re exhausted all day until your head hits the pillow. Then all of a sudden your brain is wired. If you struggle to take your mind off of things, try distracting yourself from any anxious thoughts. Listening to podcasts before bed has helped me fall asleep faster.

The most famous one, Sleep With Me, blew up over the last few years, topping Apple's podcast charts week after week. It's success led to a whole cottage industry of podcasts for insomniacs. We’ll show you how to set sleep timers in popular apps like Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Pocketcasts, and Spotify, but it’s worth noting that these aren’t the only podcasting apps that. Whether you’re looking for a podcasts to catch up on politics, fall asleep, learn something new, or be truly terrified, there is something out there to do the trick. These are the best podcasts. True crime podcasts have come a long way since Serial broke records in 2014, branching out to cover a range of crimes from a range of different perspectives.Yet, as this rundown of the best true crime podcasts of 2020 will show, for all their wide varieties, the best all have one thing in common: they explore our society, psychologies, and relationships just as much as crime itself. Sleep With Me Podcast by Drew Ackerman

Check out the following podcasts to help you sleep better: Sleep With Me The Podcast That Puts You To Sleep; This is one of the most popular sleep podcasts designed to help you fall asleep. In each episode, you’ll hear a boring story read in a monotone voice that helps quite your mind and make it easy to drift off to sleep. Sleep and Relax ASMR. Listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. If you’re researching the best podcasts to fall asleep to, I bet my savings account that Sleep With Me is on most lists. With good reason. This podcast is the brainchild of Drew Ackerman, someone who has suffered years of insomnia. He understands the struggles of falling asleep and staying asleep.

When I first tuned in, I thought it would be almost like a guided meditation, but boy was I wrong. Sleep With Me is recorded in a closet and has all of the key pieces to help lull you to sleep. Drew Ackerman’s voice is that on an ancient professor, daring you to fall asleep during the lesson. There’s a lot of repetition, like something is going to be on the exam, but you struggle to grasp the concept before he moves on. Unlike your history class, the topics he chooses are nonsensical and hard to follow. In theory, these topics should put you to sleep. But sometimes I can’t help but be enraptured by his 45 minute rants about nuns in space or explaining the plot of Breaking Bad in broken Spanish.

Sleep Stories for Adults

There’s nothing better than listening to a bedtime story, amirite? With entertainment at your fingertips all day, it’s nice to be able to close your eyes and drift off. Something you can’t do when you’re neck deep in a Netflix marathon.

Myths and Legends by Jason Weisler

The Myths and Legends podcast is perfect for when you’re in the mood for a grown-up version of a bedtime classic. You’d be surprised to know the origins of your favorite Disney movies. From Greek gods to Russian fairy tales, there’s no shortage of entertainment to meet every taste. Jason picks unusual stories and unlike the media today, gives you multiple versions of each. Imagine this as an adult story time, when you’re cool babysitter lets you stay up as late as you want and tells you darker versions of the classics.

Afraid you’re going to miss too much of the story? Utilize a podcast sleep timer to help save your spot.

Fictional Podcast by Jason and Carissa Weiser

Remember how you were bored out of your mind reading classic literature in high school? Jason Weisler’s amazing storytelling ability turns what used to be a snooze fest into a more pleasant way to end your evening. His sardonic humor and unique taste in short stories makes the Fictional podcastentertaining yet educational. It will leave you wondering why you settled for SparkNotes when this is 1000x better.

Modern Love: The Podcast by Meghna Chakrabarti and Daniel Jones

Want to get hit straight in the feels? Try Modern Love: The Podcast. Famous actors and actresses read real essays from real people that were published in the Wall Street Journal. Don’t worry, this isn’t an Dear Abby column. At the end of each episode they actually catch up with the author as well ask the performer why they chose to read that piece. This is one of my favorites because it reminds you that love comes in all shapes and sizes. It makes you think about your own relationships and value the ones you love in a whole new way. Crossing my fingers that ending my day on a positive note sends good vibes to dream land. Because to be honest, if I’m not falling asleep to podcasts I have Forensic Files in the background.

Voices that will help you sleep

Some podcasts were designed to help you sleep while others have interesting subject matter, but are hosted by people with incredibly soothing voices. The subject matter may not be your cup of tea, but you’ll most likely be out cold in 10 minutes. You’re welcome.

Casefile True Crime by Anonymous

If you’re prone to nightmares, Casefile True Crime is probably not the podcast for you. However, if you’re a true crime lover, this is most likely already a staple in your library. This podcast is hosted by Anonymous and whoever he is, his dry tone and slight accent will leave you enthralled yet exhausted. Unlike other podcasts on this list, I usually end up listening until my podcast sleep timer runs out. But his voice is so calming (despite the fact he’s 95% of the time talking about murder), you can easily fall asleep afterwards. Think of it like the podcast version of Forensic Files minus the cheesy acting.

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History

Trouble sleeping? Not anymore. Whether you’re a history buff or trivia nerd, Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History podcast will be your new go-to at bedtime. I don’t mean this as an insult – this podcast is far from boring. In fact, I commend him for picking topics that you never really think about and provides you with details that you just glossed over in history class. He only comes out with a few episodes a year, but don’t fret. Each one is about 5 hours long.

You can tell he pours hundreds of hours into researching each episode, so you feel slightly guilty nodding off to it. But think about it this way, if you’re having trouble falling asleep, at least you’re making good use of your time by learning something.
