Spotify App Update June 2019
Spotify just did some serious rearranging and Premium users aren’t too pleased about it.
This update ruined the app. All I need is for Spotify to play music, search for artists and sort the artist in my library.bleep.ing alphabetically and the dense.bleep.er who design this update removed one of the most fundamental feature of a music player. Why the.bleep. should I keep paying for premium if this isn't fixed soon? The update for june 2019 android sucks i logged in and the layout is different listed by albums not songs which is stupid and I have premium whoever thought is an.bleep.! And should be fired I'm not able to enjoy my music like I want to know I got to search through albums and albums so NO ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA and I'm not the only one who feels this way.
The mobile app for iOS and Android just unleashed some divisive changes, which should really only affect Premium users. Spotify seemed to think it was doing its most dedicated users a favor, but they aren’t feeling it.
Streamlining of the libraries for Premium users makes it easy to swipe between tabs to access their saved music and podcasts. Broken down by playlists, artists, and albums, the tabs make sense.
Here’s where the problem lies — the artists section only includes those followed by the account, not all the artists saved to the library. Another complaint is that the artists aren’t listed in alphabetical order by default.
Spotify users have sounded off:
“Why did Spotify have to go and ruin a perfectly fine layout? Where are my downloads?”
“Why are these now in a random order? What was the point of this change?”
Spotify has since released a statement:
“First things first: All your music is still here. And we’ve made finding and accessing the content you want even faster. A tap on the Music tab automatically drops you into your Playlists section, and the artists you follow and albums you’ve saved are just a swipe away. Pull down to quickly search, sort, and filter in any way you’d like.”
Spotify says its taking into account all of the feedback.

The new spotify update is genuinely, sincerely, one of the worst updates of anything ever. They have taken away the only 2 features i use (the list of albums in your saved songs, and then the quick find alphabetical slider in the albums screen).

Can you Change this so there is just a new podcast tab at the bottom and change nothing about the music tab? I don’t follow a lot of artists, since I may only like 1 or 2 songs from them. Now those songs are extremely hard to find if I don’t know their name.
